Le corps de l'enfant est évacué par un certain Bronschweig avant l'arrivée des secours. Mulder et Scully vont bientôt découvrir un projet de guerre bactériologique par la propagation d'un virus. Le nord du Texas servirait de champ d'expérimentation...
