Olivier-le-rêveur est déçu que ce jour-là ne soit pas aussi spécial qu'il le souhaitait... jusqu'au moment où lui apparaît le fantôme de Philippe de Beauchêne dit « dent-de-nuit » qui vient lui demander son aide. Tous les 50 ans, le jour de son anniversaire, un sort oblige Philippe à venir chercher l'aide d'un vivant pour accomplir une mission importante.
