Donny, jeune au passé tumultueux, danse dans les rues de la Nouvelles-Orléans pour vivre. Il rejoint Nick à New York, son frère adoptif, pour travailler dans un club, le "Static", où il participe à des chorégraphies d'une nouvelle danse. Mais les deux garçons vont se retrouver au milieu d'une guerre de gangs menée par le leader japonais Kaz, ancien ami de Nick. Kaz a une soeur, Aya, dont les papiers vont bientôt expirer. Elle risque de repartir dans son pays. Donny va tomber amoureux d'Aya.
