Deux chiens et un chat, perdus loin de leur domicile douillet, partent à l'aventure et traversent tout le Canada pour retrouver leurs maîtres. Tao, un chat siamois, Blanco, un bull-terrier, et Youpi, un labrador, vivent ensemble au sein d'une famille canadienne. Leurs maîtres s'absentent pour un voyage en Europe et les confient à un ami, Longridge, qui vit à plusieurs centaines de kilomètres de leur domicile. Celui-ci part à la chasse, laissant un mot confiant les trois animaux à sa femme de ménage. Mais le billet brûle. Se croyant abandonnés, Tao, Blanco et Youpi se mettent en route avec la ferme intention de rejoindre leur domicile...
