Nazim Tahiri découvre que son père a été assassiné par un clan albanais rival à Anvers. Le Kanun, un code séculaire qui date du XVe siècle, oblige le jeune homme à se venger. Il se rend dans la ville belge, retrouver Prenk Shehu, le parrain de la famille. Une guerre impitoyable entre les clans de la mafia albanaise est déclenchée. Les meurtres se succèdent. Les inspecteurs Erik Vincke et Freddy Verstuyft sont chargés de l'enquête. Alors que les investigations ont du mal à avancer, les deux hommes doivent aussi faire face aux intrigues dans leurs propres rangs...
