Lors d'une soirée bénéfice, Frida tombe dans l'œil de Slater King. Au point où ce milliardaire des technologies, empêtré dans une controverse médiatique, invite la jeune serveuse afro-américaine et sa collègue Jess à séjourner sur son île privée, dans les Caraïbes.
