Isabelle, alpiniste de haut niveau, est frappée d'une maladie dégénérative qu'elle n'a révélée à personne. Après 20 ans d'absence, elle revient dans son village natal pour l'enterrement de son père, guide de haute montagne. Accompagnée de Kenza, sa jeune protégée, championne d'escalade, Isabelle va échafauder un projet fou : ouvrir une voie extrêmement difficile sur le plus haut sommet de la région, en hommage à son père.
